Hanging Rock/Pilot Mountain
An easy drive from the Triad or the Triangle of NC, there are sheer cliffs and peaks of bare rock, quiet forests and cascading waterfalls, views that stretch for miles waiting to be discovered. These wondrous natural beauties are found in two sister State Parks in the Saura Mountains of North Central NC. Singletree is between them both! Hanging Rock State Park is adjacent Singletree, and Pilot Mountain State Park is a quick 20 minute drive.
Hanging Rock State Park offers approx. 24 miles of hiking trails where visitors can walk to the many peaks and 5 waterfalls, cross babbling brooks and streams, clamber up boulders , or just sit and enjoy nature. The 12 acre lake is open from June until Labor Day. Fish, or rent a canoe. The Bath House, built by the conservation corps, is on the National Registry of Historic Places. You will find picnic areas scattered about the park.
Iconic Pilot Mountain is merely 20 minutes away. One of the most recognizable silhouettes in the nation this amazing Park has miles of trail, spectacular scenery, a 6.5 mile hiking corridor connecting it to the Gorgeous Yadkin river section where one can fish, kayak, and hike the river trails. It is famous for its rock climbing and stunning scenery. Truly a unique and magnificent Park !!
Singletree is one of the few vacation rentals in such close proximity to Hanging Rock State Park and Pilot Mountain State Park.
